Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies dnblackbook.com uses, and what you can do about them. The short version: we use almost none, and we do not track you for advertising.
For the broader picture of how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Cookies have legitimate uses (remembering you across page loads, keeping you signed in, fraud prevention) and intrusive uses (cross-site advertising, behavioral profiling). The category determines whether your consent is required.
2. What this site uses
The DNBlackBook waitlist site itself sets no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no cross-site tracking cookies. The handful of technical items that may be set are listed below.
| Name / Source | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Turnstile (set on form pages only) |
Bot detection on form submission. Distinguishes humans from automated scripts without using behavioral tracking. | Strictly necessary | Session (cleared when you close the tab) |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Aggregated page-view counts. Cookieless by design — Cloudflare does not store identifiers in your browser. | Not a cookie | N/A |
| Cloudflare security (rare, on suspected abuse) |
Site-wide protection during automated-traffic spikes. Cloudflare may issue a short-lived security cookie if a request looks abusive. | Strictly necessary | Up to 30 days |
3. Cookies on payment provider pages
No payment is currently processed through this site. When the paid reservation tier opens, you will be taken to a payment provider's page to complete the transaction; those providers set their own cookies on their own pages, governed by their privacy and cookie policies. This section will be updated at that time with the specific providers and links to their notices.
4. We do not use
- Google Analytics or any other tag-based analytics platform.
- Advertising cookies (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, X Pixel, etc.).
- Affiliate-tracking cookies.
- Cross-site behavioral profiling.
- Heatmap or session-replay tools (Hotjar, FullStory, etc.).
5. Your choices
Because the cookies in use are strictly necessary, no consent banner is required and no opt-out toggle is shown. If you wish to block even those, you can do so through your browser:
Blocking the Turnstile token will prevent form submissions from passing the bot check. The site will still load and read normally.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add a technology that warrants a different disclosure (we currently do not plan to), we will update this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will be flagged on this page for a reasonable period.
